What Are The Benefits Of Training Needs Analysis For Your Business Strategy?
The Training Owl conducted a Training Needs Analysis for a Global Software company in order to identify the areas of training required for their employees. The purpose of the Training Needs Analysis was to assist the company in assessing the current competencies of their employees and to identify the areas of training to ensure that the employees had the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
The Training Needs Analysis process was broken down into 3 key steps: data collection, analysis, and presentation of results.
A Training Needs Analysis (TNA) should answer the following:
- Who requires training?
- What training is necessary?
- How can an effective training program be designed?
- What impact will training have on employee performance?
- How much investment and resources are needed to create an effective training program?
Data Collection
The first step in the Training Needs Analysis process was to collect data. This was done by conducting interviews with the employees, their managers, and the senior leadership team. The questions in the interviews focused on the roles and responsibilities of the employees, the current competencies and skills of the employees, their strengths and weaknesses, their training needs, and the training that had already been undertaken.
The Training Owl also conducted a survey of the employees to identify their training needs. The survey asked the employees questions about their current skills and knowledge, the areas that they felt they needed more training in, and the training that they had already taken.
Analysis
Once the data had been collected, it was then analysed by the Training Owl. The data was assessed to identify the current competencies of the employees, the areas that needed improvement, and the training that was required. The Training Owl then provided recommendations for the training that should be implemented to ensure that the employees had the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Presentation of Results
The results of the Training Needs Analysis were then presented back to the Global Software company. The Training Owl provided a detailed report that outlined the current competencies of the employees, the areas that needed improvement, and the recommended training. The report also provided suggestions for the types of training that should be implemented to ensure that the employees had the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
It is important for companies to complete Training Needs Analysis in order to identify the areas of training required for their employees. By conducting a Training Needs Analysis, companies are able to assess the current competencies of their employees, identify the areas of training to ensure that the employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively, and provide recommendations for the training that should be implemented.
